Company Name: Elmeg Communication Systems
Description: Elmeg Communication initially operated as a privately held company until January 2005 when the company was acquired by the Funkwerk Enterprise Communications GmbH which was a subsidiary company of the Funkwerk AG.
These German based companies shared the vision of creating a single enterprise to implement innovative technology in the fields of IP and telecommunications. The merger between the companies actually began sometime in October of 2004. Eventually Bintec Access Networks GmbH and Artem GmbH joined the Funkwerk Enterprise Communications GmbH.
Elmeg retained the use of its brand name to preserve its gains in the area of marketing telecommunication support devices. Prior to the merger the company concentrated on the delivery of security, data, and voice products to the computer market. These products were deployed mostly to professional users like administrations, institutions, and carriers.
The company executive team is ably led by Thomas Bruckbauer and Johann Schmid-Davis. ELMEG successfully maintained a workforce of 170 employees with a corporate presence in Italy, Spain, France, and Austria. The main product concentration of ELMEG Communication Systems GmbH still remains in the field of manufacturing telephone devices and associated support technologies.
These devices supported ISDN (Integrated Services Digital Networks), DSL (Digital Subscriber Lines), and VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) communication technologies.
