Company Name: EIZO Nanao
Description: Hakui Electronics Corporation began its involvement in the industry in 1968 while maintaining an operation base in Hakui, Ishikawa, Japan. After a drastic overhaul of its management, the company underwent a transition process that eventually led to the changing of its corporate name by adopting in January of 1973 the name Togi Electronics Manufacturing Corporation.
With the continuance of the seemingly turbulent operation of the company, it again changed in March of the same year its trade name to Nanao Corporation as reference to the commencement of its operation in the area of sales and manufacturing of different hardware and electronic components.
With the combining of the two main product lines of the company in the field of Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) monitors, the EIZO and the NANO lines, the company underwent its final transition process by taking on the business name of EIZO Nanao Corporation in 1996. This new enterprise began its operation in 1978 by concentrating on the design and development of video gaming machines for arcades.
The company’s competency in this field of endeavor is based on the technology developed and implemented by the Irem Software Engineering which is a company with a recognized specialization in the development of video games. This video gaming company is owned by EIZO Nanao. By 1981 the company was already involved in the process of designing and manufacturing Personal Computer display monitors.
During the 1980s, EIZO became an industry wide household name in the area of CRT monitors for different computer systems platforms. With its initial success in the display market, the company soon established a European counterpart company in 1985 which assumed the name Hitec Associates, Ltd.
In 1997 the company was awarded the ISO 9001 Certification which is a testament to the management system quality of the company encompassing both the business and production process that it implemented. The following year the ISO 14001 was received by EIZO Nanao which means that the company has exceptionally conformed to the Environmental Management standards set by the ISO organization. These two certifications are recognized in the international business community as a testament to a company’s business excellence.
The main product lines of the company include Windows-based Terminals, Touch Panel Monitors, Medical Display Systems, Graphic Monitors, LCD Monitors, and accessories that provide additional maintenance and functionality features to these products. The FlexScan series of LCD monitors proved to be the most successful line that the company has released into the computer market.
These products featured a range of sizes from 15 to 30 inches. Every series has its own distinctive and identifying strong point with the commonality being the inherent ability to delivery multimedia functionality. The SX3031W is the 30-inch version of the LCD monitor which takes full advantage of the picture-by-picture functionality including the capability of simultaneously supporting displays from two separate computer system sources.
The 27-inch wonder SX2761 is one of the latest EIZO products to hit the computer market. Aside from its 27-inch display, it also supports widescreen applications for image and video editing functionality. For the gaming industry the company released the FlexScan HD2442W which incorporates the 24.1-inch design with support for both HDMI and PC port connections.
