Description: Beginning its business operation as a manufacturer of watches in 1982 and carrying the name Digital Watch Company, the company established its operation base in China. Eventually the company divided its business operation and handed the manufacturing of digital watches to its subsidiary W&Y. The company remained widely involved in the design and production of digital cameras, video camcorders, digital watches, and their accessories.
By 1990 the company had moved its manufacturing facilities to Shenzhen in China. The current direction of DXG is primarily the responsibility of its competent management team which is composed of Jackson Yu (President), Aaron Chen (Vice President), Ray Shih (General Manager), Paul Goldberg, Sr. (Vice President for Sales and Marketing), Jeff Shu PhD (Vice President for Engineering), and Marco Del Rosario (Product Marketing Manager).
The company had also attained the stature of one of the leaders in the CMOS Digitals Screen Camera market. This reputation was held by the company until it refocused its production operation to the manufacturing of CCD-based digital camera models.
Aside from DSCs, the company also exhibited extreme proficiency in the production of Digital Video Camcorders. By 2001 the company achieved ISO 9001 Certification which means that it qualified as a Tier Two OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) of Digital Camcorders and Cameras.
The company also received the distinction of being awarded the Innovative Digital Product recognition by the Photo Market Association. In 2003 the company established its presence in the United States market which resulted in the tripling of its projected revenues during the initial year of operation in the market.
DXG Technology Corp Corp. also successfully gained a two percent share of the digital photography device market in its first nine months of doing business in the United States. In 2004 the manufacturing facility of the company in China was awarded its ISO 14001 Certification.
The following year the DXG Technology Corp began implementation of its business expansion plans. It initiated a strategic partnership and technological cooperation agreement with two of the more established enterprises in the international photography market, Olympus and Pentax. This business agreement resulted in the research, development and eventual production of various digital camera devices that were capable of 5-, 6-, and 8-megapixel resolutions.
Sometime in the middle of that same year the company released to the market the slim type digital camera DSC 406. As a result of this innovative product that invaded the digital camera market, the company was recognized with the IF Design Award for 2005 which was given out in Hanover, Germany.
At present, DXG Technology Corp remains as one of the leaders in delivering to the digital camera market the compact and slim type design digital camera devices. The company also introduced into the consumer market the water resistant camera shell which allowed underwater digital photography up to a certain depth.
The success attained by the company from its business endeavors allowed it to establish corporate presence in mainland China, Taiwan, and the United States. DXG Technology Corp joined the ESB (Emerging Stock Board) of Taiwan on August 3, 2005.
